The First Known Generation

THOMAS H. BRIAN b. about 1810 New Port, Perry, Pa. He died 15 Oct 1864. It was said that he served in the State legislature, but we don't known when or where. He married MARTHA WILDING. Their marriage appeared to be an unhappy one, and Thomas did not live at the home when Daniel, their only child was growing up. Nothing is known of either of their parents. THOMAS H. The Second Generation

DANIEL GROSS BRIAN b. March 5, 1835 in Harrisburg, Penn, married MARTHA ELIZABETH ASHWORTH. Daniel left his home at an early age(about 1853), worked on the Erie Canel, traveled west doing odd jobs, and ended up in the Salt Lake City area, where he converted to Mormonism.
