The First Known Generation

Christen Pugh, born ca. 1520, was a tenant of the estate, Klitrgaard in Norholm Parish in the year 1546.

The Second Generation

Mourids Puggi, ca 1550, lived at the Klitgaard estate. He has two known children, Niels Mouridsen who killed a man and became an outlaw, which was later overruled, and a daughter, Mette.

JENS JENSEN KLITGAARD b. 1615 in Denmark,and died in Nibe in 1664. He was a merchant and a herringkipper in Nibe where he lived. He is often mentioned in the books of the law as a functioning judge and was of high standing and quite wealthy. His estate was registered on Dec 28 and showed a profit of 241 Rdl. The Fifth Generation

JENS JENSEN KLITGAARD b. 1647 in Nibe, Denmark and died in Nibe in 1725. He was a merchant, ship owner and landlord in Nibe. He was called a distinguished man. In 1717 the house he lived in was estimated to be worth 100 Rdl., and his ships 200 Rdl. His household items and goods were valued at another 250 Rdl., plus fishing tackle and cattle. In 1700 he paid a great deal for a organ loft in Nibe church, and you can still read his name on it(1879's) In 1670 married KIRSTINE SORENDATTER KIOROLF (KJAERULF) (Large Family History here) in 1670. The Sixth Generation

SOREN JENSEN KLITGAARD b. 1685 in Nibe, Denmark, and died in Nibe after 1744. He was a merchant. In 1710 he was a corporal in the army and was home in his fathers home when he started a fight with a private of the army who called him a coward. JEN SORENSEN KLITGAARD, born in 1717 in Nibe, Denmark, died Nibe on April 19, 1773. He was a merchant in Nibe. He married KIRSTINE MARIA THOMASDATTER KLITGAARD, who was his niece. She was born in Strome, Denmark on May 5, 1724, and died in Aalberg. They had seven children. JEN SORENSEN KLITGAARD and Kirstine Maria THOMASDATTER known child was:

The Eight Generation

THOMAS KLITGAARD born in1755 in Nibe, Denmark,and died in Bradsted i Veggeby on January 10, 1815. He graduated Kind Phil., and was also a parish clerk in Veggeby-Bislev in 1783. He was a distinguished man. He vaccinated his children and the children of others. His first marriage was to Hederig Sofie Berg on Nov 4, 1786. She died on Jan 2, 1800. His second marriage was to SOHIE AMALIE BEHMANN in Lours church on Sept. 25, 1800. She was baptized in Dreio on Dec. 11, 1776, and died in Aalberg in 1829. She was the daughter of Reverend C. F. Behmann and Joanna Juliane Fotd Struch. Thomas Klitgaard's grave is covered by a stone his son J.C.B. Klitgaard put there 50 years after his father died.
