Warren

This family's connection to our family is built on detective work and the US census. They are related by marriage to the GREENLEE's. In the 1830's, in Hardemann County, TN, William Greenlee married Zilpha Warren. Their children included Marcella Elizabeth Greenlee, who married George Robert Clarkson. I found this connection after many years of research when I was reading the 1860 census report for George Robert & Elizabeth Clarkson. Living with them at the time, were James Granlee(SP) and Mary Granlee(SP). These were the younger siblings of Elizabeth, and were now living with them in Panola Co, MS. I then researched Greenlee's in TN in the 1850 census, looking for a family with these names as children, and discovered Zilpha Greenlee, a window or divorsed woman, living in Hardemann Co., TN with her children, Elizabeth, James and Mary, all the right ages. Further study uncovered a marriage between a William Greenlee and a Zilpha Warren in Hardemann Co., TN in about 1835. The Warren's appear to come from Johnson Co., North Carolina. Her father appears to be William Warren, and mother was Aley "Ailsey-Elsie" Talton. More work is required here to confirm relationships.
